Besplatan upis za migrante / Free registration for displaced persons

Knjižnice grada Zagreba donijele su odluku da s početkom 2026. godine migranti koji imaju prebivalište ili boravište u Gradu Zagrebu, Zaprešiću te gradovima i općinama u Zagrebačkoj županiji gdje se nalaze stajališta Bibliobusne službe, ali i svi migranti koji se u Gradu Zagrebu školuju ili su u njemu zaposleni, ostvaruju pravo na besplatan upis i besplatno godišnje članstvo. Riječ je o izbjeglicama i ostalim strancima pod privremenom zaštitom, tražiteljima Međunarodne zaštite, azilantima i strancima pod supsidijarnom zaštitom te ekonomskim migrantima. Pravo na besplatan upis ostvaruje se u bilo kojoj knjižnici u mreži Knjižnica grada Zagreba ispunjavanjem pristupnice te uz predočenje na uvid važećeg identifikacijskog dokumenta.

Odluka je donesena istovremeno kako su Knjižnice grada Zagreba proglasile 2026. godinu tematskom godinom posvećenom migracijama, a kojom se želi prepoznati i uvažiti različite razloge kretanja ljudi od rata, ekonomskih prilika, klimatskih promjena i društvene nestabilnosti, do osobnih motiva. Niz knjižničnih programa, pod nazivom „SviMi“, bit će posvećeni poticanju aktivnog sudjelovanja migranata u društvenom i kulturnom životu, pružanju podrške u očuvanju kulturnog identiteta i procesu integracije, te senzibiliziranju šire javnosti i rušenju predrasuda kroz susrete, priče i zajedničke aktivnosti. 

Zagreb City Libraries have decided that starting in 2026, displaced persons with permanent residence or temporary residence in the City of Zagreb, Zaprešić and cities and municipalities in the Zagreb County where Bibliobus (mobile library) service stops are located, as well as all displaced persons who study or are employed in the City of Zagreb, will have the right to free registration and free annual membership.

This includes refugees and other foreigners under temporary protection, applicants for international protection, asylum seekers, foreigners under subsidiary protection, and economic migrants. The right to free registration is realized at any library in the Zagreb City Libraries network by filling out an application form and presenting a valid identification document for inspection.

The decision was made at the same time as Zagreb City Libraries declared 2026 the thematic year dedicated to migrations, aiming to recognize and respect various reasons for people's movement—from wars, economic opportunities, climate change, and social instability to personal motives. A series of library programs called „SviMi“ (All of us) will focus on encouraging active participation of displaced persons in social and cultural life, providing support in preserving cultural identity and the integration process, and raising public awareness while dismantling prejudices through encounters, stories, and joint activities.
