When Montana became a state, the mountains were filled with minerals and the Spanish phrase "Oro y Plata" is on the state flag. In modern times, Montanans often refer to the state as 'Big Sky' country. The state is divided into two major regions, one part rocky mountains and another part vast open plains for farming and ranching. Join us for a presentation of this large state and the various hidden gems. This event is part of the American Corner Zagreb program Discover America and will take place at Knjižnica Augusta Cesarca, Šubićeva 40/2, and over Zoom through the direct link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81669039798?pwd=NUtwWjVxMWNZM2V6alNXYldxNUFudz09.
Chris Hays was born and raised in Montana where he studied to become a teacher. His first job was in rural Alaska, which helped him learn that Montana was not the least populated region in the United States. Over the next decade and a half, Mr. Hays spent time teaching in international schools in Croatia, Germany and Oman. During those years, he always spent time during the summer visiting family and exploring Montana. For the last year and half he has resided in Zagreb.
